Yeah. Openhab is free as oppossed to Home Assistant cloud service and hence should be given priority. I am pretty sure OH community would love to port to dietpi from raspbian. But I think most people dont know about feature rich diet pi itself and hence the votes are so less.

While HomeAssistant is available, Openhab isn't. Openhab is providing a ready to use image but it's not comparable to DietPi. https://www.openhab.org/docs/installation/rasppi.html

Adding openHAB2 to DietPi is incredibly easy.
It requires Java Apt key Repository Apt install
